online tutoring business support for tutors

Is writing a subject that students seek tutors for, especially online? Would like to know this before I go any further. Any writing tutors out there who have success attracting students?

Technically, you'll want to attract parents and not students.

Do you have a website? If so, you can write articles as part of your website and by doing some simple research, you can get top spots in google.

I can give you information on this, but first, I need to know if you have a website. If not, you would need to get one and from there, you can generate many parent leads by writing good content that is helpful to parents.

Yes - writing is definitely an area students need help with and parents will pay for. Consider all of the state tests that now include a writing component. My 3rd grade daughter just took the CT state tests and had 2 writing prompts (2 different days) and an writing/editing test on a different day. Our high school test involves the same thing!

You may also want to consider tutoring students taking the SATs. They have recently added a writing component to the test and the kids are very stressed about it.

Tutoring writing online is not complicated. You can simply cut and paste text onto the whiteboard so you can both see it at the same time. You can also visit other websites online together while using the voice feature. You may want to check out Google Docs since it can make tutoring any subject, especially writing, very simple.

Good luck!

Great - I suggest looking around on the web, getting familiar w/ state tests and which ones really stress writing. Start advertising in those states, write articles that have the name of the test in the title and tags, and contact some schools and let them know that you are interested in tutoring their students and prepare them for the state test. Schools appreciate high test scores!!!!!!
